The Advanced War Raider Mark II is the upgraded (i.e. advanced) version of the War Raider Mark II.  It is a multi-role strike ship for the Cylon faction. This ship was introduced to the game following the release of Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome. It may be purchased by talking to Number Eight/Sharon in the 242 Apollid Basestar CIC, or on any Outpost.

The Advanced War Raider Mark II has 4 engine slots and 3 hull slots, making the strike able to take more hits than an Advanced Cylon Raider, but also be faster than an Advanced Cylon War Raider. However, it only has 2 Computer slots, meaning that it lacks in its ability to utilise Electronic warfare as compared to the Advanced Cylon War Raider. Overall, this ship can be seen as an Advanced Cylon Raider that trades the 5th engine slot for a 3rd hull slot, making it slower but more durable.

Update 53, deployed on 14 December 2015, saw changes made to this ship. The changes included increases to its: hull points (+ 70); turning speed (+ 2.5 degrees/sec.); acceleration (+ 2 degrees/sec.); flank speed (+ 2.5 m/sec.); boost speed (+ 20m/sec.); and power recovery (+ 0.5/sec.).These changes make the Advanced War Raider Mark II more appealing for combat as it now seems closer to the halfway point between the Advanced Cylon Raider and the Advanced Cylon War Raider.

In-game Description[]

"The 'Cylon War' Raider Mk II has not been seen since the First Cylon War, but recent events have seen its return into action. The Raider Mk II is the progenitor of modern Cylon Raider, deviating from the original War Raider design. More agile than the original War Raider, and slightly more durable than a Cylon Raider, the Raider Mk II would prove itself in battle against the humans time and time again. These in-combat tests proved the design concept as an interceptor, rather than multi-role fighter, was the most effective evolutionary direction for the Raiders."
