Strike ships are your basic fast moving fighter ship in the game. They are small, agile craft designed for high speed and fast attacks.
Strikes like all other ships have a purpose and that is to support Lines and Escorts in fleet battles. Their main role is to take out enemy strikes, Destroy missiles and do damage to line ships. Eventually if you stick at it strikes will be able to take out enemy escorts but until then its best to stick to wolf packs. Equipment for strike craft is only useable by strike craft and may not be installed on escorts or lines.
A strike is what you will spend all of your early levels in so it is helpful to know how to pilot it well.
